ADDIS ABABA, JAN 20 — Four people were killed and eight others seriously injured when a truck overturned in western Ethiopia, authorities said on Sunday.
Police are investigating what caused the vehicle to flip over on Saturday afternoon in Ethiopia’s Benishangul Gumuz regional state, the local government’s communication affairs office said in a statement.
Although Ethiopia has one of the lowest per capita car ownership in the world, deadly traffic accidents are fairly common, with the blame put on bad roads, a flawed driving license issuance system and lax enforcement of safety rules. – XINHUA
