WINDHOEK, JAN 21 – When Oratilwe Hlongwane – who performs under the stage name DJ Arch Jnr – performed a set at a Platinum Lounge Bar in Cosmo City, Johannesburg in 2017, he successfully wrote his name in the annals of history: youngest club DJ at five years and 38 days old.
In fact, two years prior to holding the Guinness World Record for the youngest club DJ at just five years and 38 days old, Dj Arch Jnr was outperforming grown-ups on his way to winning the 2015 South Africa’s got talent. He had become an instant social media sensation when he displayed his deejay skills and amassed over 46 million views. The record-holder – also the resident DJ for McDonalds U/14 Schools soccer league – is just one of a few “inspirer’s” who will be on show during the Teen Inspirational Summit that was launched today in Windhoek.
Rebekka Nghilaluwa is 17, and she is the Junior Mayor of Ongwediva. As Jnr Mayor of her town, she has worked with young people and she strongly believes in gender equality, youth empowerment and leadership. She enjoys motivating and giving hope to the less fortunate youth. Her immediate goal is to pass matric with flying colours and enroll at University for a law degree which will enable her to fight for social justice and equal treatment.
Prinsloo is aged 16 and one of Namibia’s best debaters. He represented Namibia at the Orate Africa debating competition and made it to the semi-finals. He was also the 3rd best Namibian speaker and was chosen to represent Namibia at an international debating tournament in the Czech Republic. At this competition the Namibian team came 15th to become the first African team to break outside of Africa ever. He represented Namibia at the SA School’s Nationals, and became the best senior international speaker. In Botswana, he was selected as the 3rd best speaker overall.
Kimberley Malope is South Africa’s youngest motivational speaker. She started with her motivational speaker journey since she was nine years old. At 14, Kimberley Malope has received numerous accolades for the impeccable things she has achieved. To date she has travelled around the world speaking to different audiences. Through her outreach programmes she decided to start KIMMOTIVE where she can do much more for the youth of South Africa.
In 2012 she was nominated as a Read Star champion by the Read Education Fund, in the same year she received over eight medals along with her book club. To top it all off she has three diplomas in drama and a countless number of prestigious awards. After completing her studies at Entheos Christian School based in Centurion, in the next 10 years she would like to acquire a degree in music and drama. That, as well as starting her own public speaking and entrepreneurship centre.
Five year old Aunty Success is a female Nigerian child actor and comedian who has been featured in many Mark Angel Comedy videos such as “Permission, Slim People, A Deal” and several others. She first gained attention after appearing in the Mark Angel Comedy video “Permission”. She and Emmanuela now star in the Mark Angel Comedy series. She hails from Abia State, Nigeria and is in primary two.
