WINDHOEK, Oct. 22 — SADC Senior Program Officer for the Energy Sector Moses Ntlamelle on Monday said members of the regional bloc are firmly committed to adopting renewable cleaner energy in the future.
“SADC member states… are developing their renewable energy projects individually but are planning to increase collaboration in renewable energy programs and projects through SADC Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE),” said Ntlamemle, who was in the Namibian capital to attend the launch of the SADC Center for Renewable Energy on Oct. 24.
He said SADC member states are supporting and promoting the utilization of cleaner energy sources, and that the establishment of SACREEE and the adoption of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Strategy and Action Plan (REEESAP) in 2016 signify their commitment to cleaner energy sources. – XINHUA
