Windhoek, Oct 23-Bernhard Tjatjara, a commercial law lecturer at Namibia University of Science & Technology (Nust) is among professionals appointed by Utoni Nujoma, the Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations & Employment Creation to serve on the Employment Services Board for a period of three years.
Tjatjara holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) with specialization in corporate law (UNISA), Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) (UNAM), B. Juris degree (UNAM) and a Certificate in Comparative Law (University of London, SOAS). He was appointed for his specialized knowledge in labour and employment in terms of section 3 of the Employment Services Act 8 of 2011.
The Employment Services Board together with the Employment Services Bureau makes up the National Employment Service established under section 2 of the Employment Services Act 8 of 2011. The Employment Services Board falls under the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations & Employment Creation.
The functions of the Board in amongst a host of others are to investigate and advise the Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations & Employment Creation on the provision of employment services and to assist the said Minister in monitoring and analysing labour market In Namibia. Appointed with Tjatjara are Eite Shiponeni, Johannes Kangandjera, Matheus Shimpopileni, Michael Aakupa (director of Larri), Lavinia Karises, Jessica Gawachab, Dantago Garoses, Loide Shaanika, Mahongora Kavihuha and Nkurumah Mushelenga. Andrew Ndishishi was appointed as the Chairperson of the Board.
