NamPol launches strategic plan and Customer Service Charter

WINDHOEK, 07 NOV – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) launched its Strategic Plan for 2017 to 2022 and Customer Service Charter on Wednesday.
The strategic plan was designed to appropriately direct the work processes of NamPol to the fundamental ideals of crime prevention, public safety and crime investigation.
The Customer Service Charter has been developed to give the public greater assurance about the standard of service they can expect to receive from NamPol.
Speaking at the launch, NamPol Inspector-General, Lieutenant-General Sebastian Ndeitunga said these documents will assist NamPol in charting a practical and inclusive roadmap that will not only galvanise the rank and file into action, but also establishes an ethos of excellence and professionalism which in turn impacts public trust.
“NamPol is presenting its vision for excellence in policing to secure and protect the safety of the public, businesses and institutions, without fear or favour,” he said.
He further said the strategic plan has key pillars, strategic objectives, programmes and projects which will be vigorously pursued in order for the force to deliver mandate-specific, responsive and meaningful services to the public.
Ndeitunga further stated that the service delivery project, which falls under the plan, will result in outputs such as re-alignment of organisational structures, elimination of duplication of functions and scaling down of support structures.
He further noted that with regards to the Customer Service Charter, NamPol has committed itself to delivering quality service to both its internal and external customers.
“NamPol promises to engage its customers in a fair and transparent manner, as well as to ensure transparency, fairness and equality in its recruitment processes, and encourages community participation and cooperation during crime prevention patrols,” he said.
The charter will be prominently be displayed at all NamPol service points.
