WINDHOEK, Mar. 6 – Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sergey Victorovich Lavrov, paid a courtesy visit to President Hage G. Geingob yesterday.
Namibia and Russia’s friendship dates during the years of the liberation struggle and continue to enjoy great relations between the two country.
“We are so excited to come and visit Namibia it is such a great country, thank you so much Mr president for having us here. We bring you greetings from his excellency president Putin.”
President Geingob said that Russia helped Namibia during the liberation struggle and Namibia will forever be friends with Russia. “That struggle is now over and we are now in the second face of the struggle which is the economic struggle. We have various issues that we need to solve for instance, the land issue, inequality, poverty and unemployment. – Robert Maseka
