WINDHOEK, MAR 4 – Esther Muinjangue was on Sunday declared NUDO’s new president in Windhoek after garnering 240 votes compared to Vetaruhe Kandorozu who had 227 votes.
NUDO’S third Elective Extraordinary National Congress also elected PK Kazongominya as Vice President, Joseph Kauandenge as Secretary General (SG) , Uaraa Uapingene as Deputy SG, while Elia Kandjii was elected as the party’s national chairperson to be deputised by Kapukala Kuvare.
The party held its congress in May last year but then party president Asser Mbai declared proceedings null and void after inner disputes and scuffles.
Team NUDO of Muinjangue, and Team VK 100% of Okakarara councillor Kandorozu had taken their dispute to court but reconciliation efforts eventually led to the extraordinary elective congress. Contacted for comment, Vetahe Kandorozu from team VK 100 % refused to comment and said “I will comment at later stage” before hanging up.- Robert Maseka
