Windhoek,April 18 – – Africa’s leading boxing stable, the MTC Nestor Sunshine Promotions have taken a bold step when they announced the release of Namibia’s rising boxing star, Harry Simon Jr. The announcement was made by award winning boxing Promoter Nestor Tobias who confirmed the termination of the current agreement.
“After consultation with the MTC Sunshine Promotions leadership and the Coaching staff, we have all agreed that it is in the best interest to immediately release Harry Simon Jr from our promotional agreement. This was not an easy decision to take but one we had to make as he was beginning to compromise the level of discipline that all our boxers subscribe to. We have invested so much into his career because we believed and still believe that he can become a world-class fighter but that dream is threatened by his poor level of discipline in all aspects of his career and we can unfortunately not continue to invest in a dream that we know is heavily compromised and that goes against everything that every sportsperson should believe in. We have on various occasions tried to guide and advise him but our advice fell on deaf ears. We therefore wish him all the best in his boxing career and we have informed him that our doors will always be open should he wish to return provided he changes his attitude and level of discipline” explained Nestor Tobias.
Harry Simon Jr is currently unbeaten with 13 fights and 13 wins with a knockout record of 10 and hails from Walvis Bay.
