MOSCOW, Sept. 23– Russian air defense shot down more than a dozen Ukrainian drones attacking Moscow on Tuesday morning, according to the city’s mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
The wave of attacks followed overnight drone strikes targeting the Russian capital on Monday and continued into Tuesday.
Sobyanin has repeatedly said on social media that defense forces destroyed unmanned aerial vehicles flying toward Moscow.
Since his post at 7:18 (0418 GMT) local time, the mayor has reported at least 16 drones downed.
The Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday that air defense downed 69 Ukrainian drones from midnight to 7 a.m. (0400 GMT) across multiple regions. (Xinhua)
