LUSAKA, Aug. 9 — Mazabuka-based side F.C MUZA have secured an international friendly match against Namibian League Champions African Stars. The match will be played on 12 August 2023 at SNW Stadium in Windhoek, Namibia.
African Stars are a well-respected club in Namibia, having won the league title 11 times. They also have a Zambian connection, with defender Joseph Lungu on their books.
F.C. MUZA are preparing for their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup campaign. They will face Cano Sport of Equatorial Guinea in the first round, with the first leg to be played in Malabo on 19 August 2023.
The friendly against African Stars will be a good opportunity for F.C MUZA to test themselves against top-quality opposition. It will also give them a chance to get used to playing in the heat and humidity of Africa.
F.C. MUZA coach Chris Kasonde is looking forward to the challenge. He said, “We are excited to play against African Stars. They are a good team and it will be a tough test for us. But we are ready for the challenge and we are confident that we can get a good result.”
African Stars coach Ephraim Shivute is also looking forward to the match. He said, “F.C. MUZA are a good team and it will be a good test for us. We are preparing for the CAF Champions League and this match will give us a good opportunity to get some match practice.”
The match between F.C. MUZA and African Stars is sure to be a closely contested affair. Both teams will be looking to win and gain some valuable experience ahead of their respective continental campaigns.
