WINDHOEK, OCT. 22 – A 43-year-old man from Kahenge in the Kavango West Region on Saturday died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face.
The incident happened at around 20h45, the Namibian Police Force’s Regional Commander for the region, Commissioner Josephat Abel told Nampa on Monday.
According to Abel, the deceased shot himself with a shot gun in the face which destroyed the head as well as part of the face.
He further observed that the deceased had a steel wire around his neck from a presumed earlier suicide attempt where he tried to hang himself.
He has been identified as Kadiva Daniel Nkasi and his next of kin have been informed of his death.
His body was taken to the Nankudu Hospital mortuary and no foul play is suspected.
No suicide note was left behind.
