Mariental, Aug. 4 — The Landless People’s Movement (LPM) councillor Frensis Gawases resigned from the party and local authority with immediate effect late last week.
She did not give her reasons for her resignation.
Gaweses is the second LPM member to resign from the council after the former mayor Adam Kuhlman called it quits early this year.
Contacted for comment, the LPM spokesperson Eneas Emvula confirmed the resignation.
“Yes the authorities have received her resignation (letter) but the party leadership had not yet approved the resignation,’’ Emvula said.
