NDIYONA,August 05 – Innocentia Mandjoro, a young resident of Makena village in the Ndiyona constituency, has transformed her life by venturing into the dishwashing liquid business. Now, she is on a mission to share her skills and knowledge with other youth in the region, encouraging them to explore this entrepreneurial opportunity.
Mandjoro’s journey began after attending a life-changing workshop organized by the Achieve Dreams Project last year. The project’s primary focus was to empower young girls between the ages of 10 and 24 by providing them with essential skills and guidance. During this workshop, Mandjoro learned how to craft high-quality dishwashing liquid. Participants were also given a starter kit containing the necessary ingredients and ten storage bottles.
“I struggled, but managed to get N$3000 to buy more ingredients because the demand for my product was high,” Mandjoro said, emphasizing her determination to succeed despite facing challenges.
Growing up in a family where her parents managed to provide for their seven children despite an unstable income, Mandjoro developed a strong belief that self-made opportunities can lead to a better life. Witnessing her parents do odd jobs inspired her to explore ways to secure a stable income and ensure she never goes to bed hungry.
Currently, Mandjoro’s business yields a minimum of N$500 per month, with each 750-ml bottle of dishwashing liquid selling for N$25. Grateful for the modest income, she uses it to support her child and assist her parents and siblings as much as possible.
With big dreams for her product, Mandjoro is in the process of registering her business with BIPA (the Business and Intellectual Property Authority) and hopes to attract potential investors. Her ultimate goal is to collaborate with local shops to distribute her product widely.
Customers have praised the quality of Mandjoro’s dishwashing liquid, citing its consistency and longevity. Josef Rumwagaro, one of her satisfied clients, attested, “The product is good; it lasts me for almost two months. I will definitely continue buying from her.”
In a bid to encourage more youth in Ndiyona and surrounding areas to explore the dishwashing liquid business, Mandjoro calls on those interested to contact her. She is eager to offer training and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs, empowering them to create their own opportunities for a better future.
