JERUSALEM, April 1 — The U.S. chip giant Intel has signed an agreement to acquire the Israeli software company Granulate Cloud Solutions, both companies confirmed on Thursday.
Granulate, founded in 2018 and headquartered in the coastal city of Tel Aviv, is a developer of real-time autonomous optimization software.
The acquisition will help cloud and data center customers maximize compute workload performance and reduce infrastructure and cloud costs, Intel said.
Granulate’s autonomous optimization reduces processor utilization and application latencies by learning the customer’s application and deploying a customized set of continuous optimizations at runtime.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Some media estimate that it amounts to about 500 million U.S. dollars.
Intel and Granulate’s relationship began in late 2019 when the Israeli company was part of the first graduating class of Intel’s startup accelerator program that taps into Intel’s resources to help early-stage companies succeed. – Xinhua
