BEIRUT, Jan. 30 — One Hezbollah member was killed on Friday afternoon in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese town of Siddiqin in the Tyre district, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The airstrike hit the Hezbollah member’s vehicle, setting it ablaze, according to the NNA. Lebanese security sources identified the person killed as Mohammad Ahmad Youssef, a Hezbollah member from eastern Lebanon, the NNA said.
Also on Friday, the NNA reported that an Israeli drone crashed in southern Lebanon’s Marjeyoun district amid intense low-altitude flights by Israeli drones over multiple Lebanese areas.
“An enemy drone fell in the village of Rab El Thalathine in Marjeyoun,” the NNA said, without providing further details on the cause or any damage.
Later in the day, the Israel Defense Forces said they launched a wave of airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, without providing further details.
A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel has been in force since Nov. 27, 2024. Despite the deal, Israel has continued to carry out occasional strikes in Lebanon, saying they are aimed at eliminating Hezbollah threats. (Namibia Daily News / Xinhua)
