Hanse-Himarwa awaits sentencing after High Court finds her guilty of corruption

Hanse-Himarwa was found guilty of using her former position as Hardap governor in 2014, when she placed some of her relatives on a list of housing beneficiaries under the country’s mass housing initiative.
judge Christie Liebenberg announced on Monday that due to the weight of the evidence, the accused did abuse her power and authority beyond reasonable doubt and the court finds her guilty of the charge.
Meanwhile, Hanse-Himarwa will remain out of custody until the sentencing hearing set for July 24.
