ACCRA, Aug. 20 — The Ghanaian government has disbursed nearly 9.7 billion cedis (about 887 million U.S. dollars) to domestic bondholders, bringing total payments under the Domestic Debt Exchange Program (DDEP) in 2025 to 19.4 billion cedis.
In a release on Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance reaffirmed the government’s commitment to honoring the memorandum of understanding signed under the DDEP, noting that the move is aimed at bolstering investor confidence.

“The government assures investors and the public that subsequent debt obligations, including DDEP obligations, will be honoured fully and on time,” the statement said.
In July, the government announced the setting up of two categories of sinking funds to cater for domestic and external debt servicing and repayment.
