“Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet” leads China’s box office

BEIJING, April 21 — Japanese animation film “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet” continued leading the Chinese mainland box office on Tuesday, with daily earnings reaching more than 7 million yuan (around 1.08 million U.S. dollars), data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed Wednesday.
As the 24th cinematic installment in the “Detective Conan” animation franchise, the film’s plot revolves around the protagonist’s investigation into a series of kidnapping incidents involving the opening ceremony of the World Sports Games in Tokyo and the launch of a cutting-edge bullet train in line with the event.
Chinese heart-warming film “Sister” ranked second, generating 6.62 million yuan in box office revenue on Tuesday.
It was followed by the re-released U.S. fantasy film “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” which raked in 4.45 million yuan on Tuesday. Xinhua
