ADDIS ABABA – 26 April,It’s clear conflict between African Union,France and it’s elements of the G5 Sahel on the Chadian transition.
The AU calls on the military to surrender power to civilians,France and it’s G5 Sahel allies say they will accompany the situation.
The African Union composed of some influential Anglophone African states including Nigeria,Kenya and many other states advanced in democracy have not wanted to give in to French influence.
In a statement issued on Friday night,the organization’s Peace and Security Council expressed it’s serious concerns about establishment of a military council in Chad,chaired by 37-year -old General Mahamat Deby biological son of slain Chad president.
The Council of African Union calls on Chadian security forces to respect the constitutional mandate and order, to engage quickly in the process of restoring constitutional order and transferring political power to civil authorities.
The African Union also called on AU Commission to set up a high-level fact-finding mission to Chad without revealing it’s objective.
Tongues were beginning to unlock what was already called, African Union’s inertia against the coup d’etat of Chadian military at the antiques of constitutional arrangements.
It remains to be seen wether the AU has a coercive card capable of compelling the Chadian gente to face it
