Windhoek, June 9 – – Bank Windhoek welcomed Namibia’s President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, to its Goreangab Mall Digital Banking Hub on Friday, 5 June 2026, during the official opening of Goreangab Mall in Windhoek. The President engaged with customers and staff members.
She was accompanied by Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare and Khomas Governor Sam Nujoma, while Bank Windhoek Managing Director James Chapman was present to receive and welcome her at the branch.
The visit formed part of the official inauguration of Goreangab Mall, which the President described as a symbol of economic transformation, inclusion and growing investment in historically underserved communities. The new mall brings a wide range of essential services and retail offerings closer to residents of Goreangab, Katutura and surrounding areas, helping
to reduce travel time and transport costs while creating new economic opportunities.
As an extension of Bank Windhoek’s Katutura Branch, the Goreangab Mall Digital Banking Hub expands convenient access to banking services in one of Windhoek’s busiest communities. The hub combines in-person service with self-service convenience, reflecting the Bank’s commitment to delivering accessible, responsive and innovative banking solutions closer to where customers live and work.
The hub operates from 08:30 to 15:30, and the self-service section operates until 18:00. The mall closes at 19:00. Customers can use self-service devices and cash-accepting Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), view and print statements, obtain stamped bank confirmation letters, and manage card information in a secure environment.
During the opening period, Bank Windhoek also showcased its WhatsApp Banking channel and a range of retail offerings, including Basic Banking, EasySave, Selekt Red, Selekt Gold and Selekt Platinum. Commenting on the development, Chapman said the opening of the Goreangab Mall Digital Banking Hub marks another important milestone in Bank Windhoek’s ongoing efforts to make banking more accessible, relevant and convenient for communities across Namibia.
He added that by expanding its footprint in Goreangab, the Bank continues to strengthen its role as a proudly Namibian financial institution committed to supporting customers and communities with care, urgency and excellence.
The President commended Bank Windhoek for bringing banking closer to the community. A Bank Windhoek customer, Hashikuti Victory, echoed the President’s sentiments and said it is really rewarding for him and the community to now bank at their doorsteps without travelling long distances to find ATMs and other banking services.
