ACCRA, July 24 — Ghana spent 58 million Ghana cedis (4.99 million U.S. dollars) on the Black Stars during their participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson said Thursday.
Presenting the government’s 2026 midyear fiscal policy review to Parliament, Forson said the expenditure was part of the approved government funding allocated to support Ghana’s campaign at the global tournament.
The Black Stars made their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup at the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Ghana advanced from Group L, which also featured Panama, England and Croatia, before being eliminated in the round of 32, (Namibia Daily News / Xinhua)
