KIEV, May 3 — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that Ukrainian forces had struck two vessels belonging to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet.”
The tankers, which had been actively used to transport oil, were hit in the waters near the entrance to the port of Novorossiysk in southern Russia, Zelensky said in a post on X.
He thanked Andrii Hnatov, chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, for leading the operation, as well as Ukraine’s Security Service and Navy for “delivering effective results.”
Zelensky added that Ukraine’s long-range capabilities will continue to be developed at sea, in the air, and on land. (Namibia Daily News / Xinhua)
