WINDHOEK, Mar. 21 – The Legacy Fight that hounours Namibian Founding father Dr Sam Shafishuna Nujoma, Former president Hifikepunye Pohamba and the current president Hage Geingob was a hive of activity after Foul-mouthed Billy Codoy seemed a man on the brink of grabbing stardom after he ranted and raved of his supremacy and singular dominance at a press conference.
However, his was a short-lived fantasy as Namibian Walter Kautondokwa brought him crashing back to reality.
Kautondokwa, silent throughout a week while his opponent was on a campaign that saw his good looks yield points rather than his boxing skills, saw him unabated by the inferior challenge.
Stepping into a bout scheduled for twelve rounds was a bad idea for Codoy, as his opponent was evidently a few notches above him.
All the talk could not save the pretty Codoy, who stumbled after a fierce hook from Kautondoka in the second round, that left him dizzy to identify the referees finger.
A flurry of blows plundered the Argentine, whose mouth resembled a haven of blows as Kautondokwa let loose a taste of African truth.
And in the 5th round, the deadly Kautondokwa connected a combo sent the Argentine down out.
Meanwhile, Harry Simon jr won by a TKO against Gerson Veeta while Mikka Shonena won the WBO Africa Welterwieght title against Sid Yazidu of Tanzania.
Jeremiah “Low-key” Nakathla beat Patrick Okine for the WBO Junior Lightweight title.
