Swakopmund, Aug. 12 -– The by-elections for the Swakopmund constituency kicked off today (Friday) at 07h00 and polling will end at 21h00.
About 29 polling stations are packed with voters, waiting to cast their votes for the Swakopmund constituency councillor.
More than 30 000 voters registered and a total of 145 polling officers were trained and were deployed in 29 teams across Swakopmund.
In a statement, the ECN reminded the officials to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, impartiality, transparency, fairness, commitment, and professionalism throughout the process.
“We’re doing this for our community and as long as we all have the right to make our own choice, I believe we can bring about change, together,” said one voter.
