Windhoek, July 3- Mininster of Health and Social Services Dr Kalumbi Shangula this evening announced fifteen new cases of Covid-19.
They are all Namibians from Walvis Bay. Thirteen (13) are females and two (2) are
males. The youngest one is 4 years old and oldest one is 51 years old. Nine (9) are contacts of confirmed cases. Twelve (12) had symptoms consistent with COVID-19 at the time of specimen collection. Four were identified through active case search. They are all in stable condition. Contact tracing is ongoing.
The Minister also said that the morning update he erroneously indicated that only one case was from Windhoek. In fact, there are two cases from Windhoek and not one. The second case is that of a patient who was referred from Walvis Bay to Windhoek. The specimen was
collected and tested in Windhoek. Therefore this is a Windhoek case.
