Namibian police decry road accidents that killed more than 2,000 in three years

   WINDHOEK, Nov. 18-- About 2,234 people died on Namibian roads in the past three years in carnage caused by either human error or reckless driving, the country's police force said on Monday.
   Inspector general of the Namibian Police Force Sebastian Ndeitunga revealed the statistics in Windhoek while launching the festive season road safety campaign and called for drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads during the holidays.
   Ndeitunga said the road accidents were too much for a small country like Namibia, adding that the police will increase visibility on the roads during the festive season and the period leading to the festive season in a bid to reduce road carnage.
   "We redirect our attention, expertise and time to address the problem and I believe that the outcome of this road safety campaign will contribute to the improvement of safety on our roads," Ndeitunga said. Xinhua
