PYONGYANG, May 26 -- Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has called for building a world-class beach resort in the eastern port city Wonsan, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Saturday. While inspecting a construction site at the Wonsan-Kalma coastal tourist area, Kim said new miracles of construction were again taking place, said KCNA. "It is the determination of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) to wonderfully build the Wonsan-Kalma coastal tourist area as a Korean-style coast city ... to make our people enjoy the highest civilization at the highest level," he was quoted as saying. The WPK said in a plenary session last month that the DPRK would concentrate all its efforts on economic construction to improve the people's livelihood.
