REHOBOTH, 25 Apr – Clemence Nangombe, veteran player of the surprise package of this year’s Debmarine Namibia Cup Golden Bees from Outjo, said they will not roll over for Black Africa in their Round of 8 match this weekend in Windhoek.
During an interview with Nampa on Tuesday, Nangombe said they do not need any motivation for the match as the magnitude of the game already serves as inspiration.
“We don’t need extra motivation for this game as we all know Black Africa are the knock-out specialists in cup competitions in Namibia. As with the rest of our games, we aim to work hard for our victory and win this game against all odds,” he said.
He said cup competitions differ from the rest of the games, but they will not stand back and watch their opponents bring the game to them.
“They have to work hard if they want to proceed to the next round, just like we are aiming to do,” Nangombe said.
He further stated that to be the best, they have to beat the best.
“It is time now for us to raise our hands and be counted among the best teams. We want to do it for our loyal fans and for our beautiful town as well,” he said.
Prior to engaging Black Africa, Golden Bees won the North West Stream First Division elimination matches en route to beating Namibia Premier League (NPL) team Life Fighters in the Round of 32 and defeating Southern Stream First Division outfit, Khomas Namibian Police, in the Round of 16.
They are the only remaining team outside the NPL.
