MOSCOW, Aug. 9 — A blast at an optical-mechanical plant in the Moscow region has injured 31 people, reported Russia’s Sputnik news agency on Wednesday.
According to the city’s authorities, an evacuation has been declared following the explosion in the city of Sergiyev Posad.
“Representatives of law enforcement agencies and the head of the district are on the scene. A total evacuation of all buildings and workshops, including rented ones, has been announced at the plant,” said the authorities via social media.
Local emergency services told the media that the preliminary cause of the explosion was a technological breach. (Xinhua)
