LUSAKA, FEB 6 — Britain announced yesterday that it would resume part of its support to Zambia’s health sector.
The resumption was due to financial reforms that have taken place, said British High Commissioner to Zambia Fergus Cochrane-Dyet during an annual health consultative meeting between the government and cooperating partners.
“This resumption of systems follows the suspension of funds which we communicated to the ministry (of health) last year,” he said.
The annual consultative meeting with strategic partners was an opportunity to jointly review the performance of the health sector and agree on strategies to strengthen health systems, said Zambia’s Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya. – XINHUA
