BEIJING, Feb. 11 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a message of condolences to his Kenyan counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta, over the passing of former Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi. In his message, Xi mourned the death of Moi and extended sincere sympathies to his family. Calling him an outstanding leader of Kenya and Africa as well as an old friend of the Chinese people, Xi said that Moi had made important contributions to the development of China-Kenya relations. The Chinese side attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and stands ready to work with the Kenyan side to lift their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to higher levels so as to bring more benefits to the two countries and two peoples, said the Chinese president.
