Windhoek Spin City back with a bang

WINDHOEK, Feb. 27 – Namibia’s popular and fast growing motor show, Windhoek spin city held it is first event for 2018 over the weekend.

Hundreds of cars spun out with car owners not only hailing from Windhoek, but from towns such as Walvisbay, Swakopmund and Otjiwarongo.

Moreover, the 2018 first Spin City event featured international drivers from including neighboring country Botswana highlighting the international interest the event has begun to attract.

The international driver known as ‘The General’ showed his skills behind the wheel and was one of the fan favorites as the crowd constantly cheered the General every time he rolled onto the field.

Meanwhile, South Africa was represented by Team Suntech who also did not disappoint and sent the crowd into a fever pitch. Local acts such as the Most Wanted, Wamboe seun and countless other were also in the mix.

However, there was a brief moment of concern when one of Team Spider’s co-driver was hurled out of their vehicle and got injured.

It was an unfortunate incident as paramedic were not on site, and their arrival took almost 30 minutes to attend to the injured driver. A talking point was the lack of readily available first-aid kit or emergency vehicle which the organisers will have to take as a learning curve and work toward avoiding in the future.

Nevertheless, the crowd breathed a sigh of relief after injured co-driver was taken by paramedics, and Most Wanted and the General came into the field to conclude the event in style with an otherwise stunning performance.

The next spin city event will be hosted in Otjiwarongo on the 24th of March 2018.
