WINDHOEK, OCT. 3 – Henny Seibeb, whose name features prominently in the upper echelons of the Landless People Movement (LPM) hierarchy, was rigorously criticized – particularly by the Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL) – yesterday for a placard he wielded during a peaceful demonstration against the ongoing land conference.
Now details have emerged that Seibeb is set to be disciplined by his own party, as per party spokesperson Utaara Uti Mootu.
In an interview with NamibiaDailyNews, Uti Mooto said the party does not condone inappropriate behavior in public and LPM would consider appropriate disciplinary measures .
She said: “Seibeb and the (view expressed through the) placard was carried out in his individual capacity and does not reflect our Party stance,” she said.
The spokesperson did not however specify what measures would be taken against Seibeb, who has close links to the leader of the Party and former land Deputy Minister Clinton Swartbooi. When conducted for comment if disciplinary measures would be taken against him, Seibeb laughed loudly to the reporter and switched off his phone.
Swartbooi could not not be reached for comment when contacted. – firstname.lastname@example.org
