WINDHOEK, Sept. 27 – Allen Jonathan, affectionately known as Swart Baster, will tie the knot this weekend with his long time girlfriend Jessica Beukes at the Roman Catholic Church, according to a close associate of his.
Jonathan, who hails from Rundu, rose to fame in the early 2000’s after releasing his Afrikaans single “Die Liefde,” which earned him the moniker “Swart Baster,” and has established himself as an award-winning artist ever-since, while featuring with musicians such as Tate Buti, Gazza, The Dog and Gal Level to name a few.
Most of his songs are sung in mixed languages including Rukavango, English and Afrikaans, and almost always get nominated for NAMA awards.
However, the reception will be an exclusive event with limited invites going out mostly to his fellow artists, and it will take place at an undisclosed venue in Windhoek. – Robert Maseka
