WINDHOEK, Mar. 9 – On Saturday 5 March 2022, 113 archers from 14 different schools/clubs competed on the St
George’s Field. A chilly morning set the scene for the first two Bulls’ Eye Rounds. Then it warmed up and after lunch the 3D animal rounds were shot.
First time archers at a completion and more experienced archers got bows, shot, checked scores and got arrows and then repeated the process. A Bulls’ Eye round consisted of a practice round (5 arrows) at 10 metres and then 3 scoring rounds, followed by a practice round at 15 metres and 3 scoring rounds.
This gives a total of 300. Archers shot 3 such rounds each. The 3D animal rounds works slightly differently. Animals replicas are set up at 10m, 11m, 12m, 13m, 14m and 15m. Depending on where you start, moving to the right, 5 arrows are shot at each animal with a practice round on the first animal. Archers shot one such round on Saturday.
