RUNDU, 04 DEC – The youth entrepreneurship expo by the Kavango Youth Got Talent (KAYGOT) that was slated for the Kavango Convention Centre this week has been postponed to June next year.
KAYGOT is a youth organisation in the Kavango East Region established in 2012.
The three-day expo was supposed to start on Monday.
The organisation’s chairperson, Hildefons Kavara told Nampa on Monday the expo has been moved to next year due to a lack of interest in exhibitors and sponsorships from the local business community.
Kavara attributed the lack of interest to short notice and poor marketing from the team.
He said their aim remains the same – to allow the youth from all parts of the country to carry out business activities successfully on a small scale.
The expo also aims to create a platform where youth from different parts of Namibia can exchange skills.
He, however, credited Kavango East Regional Governor, Samuel Mbambo for his encouragement and support of the event.
The chairperson further said they have started to engage possible sponsors to team up with to make the event a reality.
“We are now meeting up with different companies for sponsorships to make the expo a reality come next year,” said the youth leader.
The exact date of the expo will be communicated to the public early in 2019. – NAMPA
