Otjozondjupa education director retires

OTJIWARONGO, 24 JUL  – Otjozondjupa Regional Education Director, Simon Tsuseb expressed gratitude to have been able to successfully serve and exit the public service he has worked in for the past 38 years as an educator.
Tsuseb turned 60 years of age on 17 July 2018.
He told Nampa in an interview on Monday that his last office day is 31 July 2018, and he will then officially retire from the public service where, since 1980, he worked as a teacher, school principal, inspector of education and director of education.
“I am really happy to have contributed to this country through teaching and now I am going home to rest,” he said.
Tsuseb started his teaching career at then Okahandja Community School, today known as Aurora Primary School after completing training at the former Augustineum Teacher’s Training College in 1980.
He climbed the ladder becoming the Vooruitsig Junior Secondary School principal in 1993 to 2000. Tsuseb then became an inspector of education until 2012 when he was promoted to the position of deputy education director for the Otjozondjupa Region. That same year, he took the Kunene Region education director post, and later transferred to Otjozondjupa where he is retiring now.
The Otjozondjupa Regional Council on 21 July 2017 appointed Tsuseb to act as chief regional officer, a position that will also lapse next week Tuesday when he goes on retirement.
The experienced educator holds a Master of Arts Degree in Education Planning and Development from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
Otjozondjupa has a total of 83 public and private schools, 47 618 school learners and 1 645 teachers, Tsuseb said in the interview.
