KATIMA MULILO, 30 MAR – The Otjozondjupa netball team on Friday beat Kunene 28-16 during their match in The Namibian Newspaper Cup competition underway in Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region.
The girls from Otjozondjupa dominated play from the first quarter with strong ball possession that they showed throughout the game. The team showed great composure as they were all on top of their game.
Kunene also managed to capitalise on their chances in the third quarter of the match, nonetheless, Otjozondjupa showed a lot of character.
Coach of the winning team, Marvellous Khaebes-Ochar told Nampa after the match that at the start, she was a bit stressed, but she had trust in her girls and knew they would deliver.
“I can’t explain the feeling, but I am grateful that we managed to win the game,” said Khaebes-Ochar.
Mbahimua Kakueje, called Neymar by her teammates, scooped the player of the match gong.
