WINDHOEK, 15 Mar. – Kavango East Second Division (KESD) outfit, Once Again Football Club, have promised fireworks in the next round of the Debmarine Namibia Cup after winning the regional division’s preliminary rounds over the weekend.
Once Again, an outfit based five kilometres north-east of Rundu in the Sauyema informal settlement, won the Kavango East Debmarine Namibia Cup Second Division preliminary round after beating Aren Tops 4-1, Special Eleven 4-2 and UNAM Rundu Campus 2-1 in the regional playoff tournament.
With those wins they booked themselves a spot in the Round of 32 in the Debmarine Namibia Cup. The draw for the
Round of 32 is slated for Thursday in Windhoek.
Speaking to Nampa on Wednesday, Once Again head coach Kamati ‘Rogeh’ Augustinus said his team is motivated to go far in the competition.
“We are ready to face any team. Our next opponents, whoever they are, should not expect a walk in the park when they meet us. We are going to eliminate any team we face because we want to go far,” he said.
Augustinus added that with his team doing very well in the first round of the KESD, his players understand what they have to do to make a name for themselves in the cup competition organised by the Namibia Football Association.
“We are not known by those teams we are going to face and we also don’t know them. It will be a good game for all the teams when we face each other but I am just warning whoever will be drawn against us to be ready for us,” Augustinus said.
Once Again is currently second on the KESD log standing of 12 teams and has amassed 16 points from seven games played thus far. Kavango United are top of the log with 18 points, having played the same number of games.
