WINDHOEK, July 5 — Namibia’s Electoral Commission (ECN) said Thursday that the Supplementary Registration of Voters (SRV) will be conducted over 18 days from July 8 to 27 ahead of elections in November.
Namibia’s presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on November 27.
ECN Chairperson Notemba Tjipueja said at a media briefing the commission has successfully recruited a total of 4,488 registration official from which 671 teams are to serve registration points spread over 14 regions and 121 constituencies.
Tjipueja urged all eligible Namibians who do not already have a voters card to go in droves to the registration points to register.
According to the ECN, the total number of voters on the National Voters’ Register as of July 3, 2019 stands at 1,235,020 and the final voters’ register is expected to be published in the government gazette on Oct. 25. – XINHUA
