WINDHOEK, Aug. 23 – A statement issued by Namibia’s mobile giant MTC, has denied exploiting customers, citing an article from a daily newspaper that reiterated as such.
“MTC has taken notice of the article in the New Era, at page 11 of Inside Business on Tuesday, 22 August 2017 under the headline “CRAN slaps MTC on wrists for consumer exploitation,” read the statement.
According to Tim Ekandjo, Chief Human Capital & Corporate Affairs officer, the article implies that CRAN sought only to regulate MTC.
“MTC has written to CRAN to ask whether the ruling applies to the industry as a whole or whether it applies only to MTC. MTC believes that the principle underlying the CRAN ruling is applicable to the entire industry. MTC will inform its customers of CRAN’s response which is expected within the next ten days.”
