ALGIERS, Aug. 14 — Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire had secured their passage to the Davis Cup 2023 World Group II Play-offs after topping their groups of Africa Group III, which was held from Aug. 10 to Aug. 13 at the Algerian Bachdjarah Tennis Club in Algiers.
The third promotion spot from Africa III went the way of Zimbabwe, who overcame Namibia 2-1 on the final day.
Morocco is definitely the best team in this event as they have won all four of their matches without dropping a set.
Mozambique and Kenya will find themselves in Africa Group IV next season after losing their relegation play-offs. Hosts Algeria took down Mozambique 2-0 and Benin clinched a close contest 2-1 against Kenya. (Xinhua)
