OTJIWARONGO, 22 APR – A 20-year-old man is in a serious, but stable condition at the Otjiwarongo State Hospital after he was shot in the head in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa a 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Mbeha said the incident occurred around 03h50 Sunday morning at a bar in the Orwetoveni residential area.
It is still not clear what led to the shooting.
“The victim is seriously injured, but in a stable condition,” said Mbeha.
A case of attempted murder has been opened against the suspect at the Otjiwarongo Police Station and he is expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court this week.
Police investigations continue.
