OTJIWARONGO, 18 Mar. – A 40-year-old man died after he was hit with a stone on the head by a 33-year-old male suspect at the Okatjoruu settlement in the Otjituuo district in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa on Sunday the deceased has been identified as Isaak !Xani Kawuseb.
Kawuseb was hit with a huge stone on the head several times.
“We are still establishing the motive behind this attack on him,” said Mbeha.
The police officer said the suspect allegedly went into the Kawuseb’s house while he was under the influence of alcohol and pulled him outside, where he hit his head with a stone.
Kawuseb died on the spot.
His next of kin have been informed.
The suspect was arrested at the scene at about 03h00 the same day.
He is expected to appear in the Grootfontein Magistrate’s Court Monday on a charge of murder.
