ONGWEDIVA, 12 APR – A man who allegedly attacked his wife with a panga at Okamboola village in the Omusati Region on Tuesday, handed himself over to the Ruacana Police on Wednesday.
Warrant Officer Linekela Shikongo of the Namibian Police Force’s Public Relations Unit in the region told Nampa the 43-year-old suspect was due to appear before the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
“It is alleged that he attacked the complainant with a panga and she sustained a wound on her left cheek,” Shikongo said.
The woman is 44 years old.
Shikongo said police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The suspect is charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
