Man allegedly raped by trial-awaiting prisoners

WINDHOEK, 01 OCT – A 32-year-old man was allegedly raped by trial-awaiting prisoners in the cells at the Windhoek Police Station on Friday after an order by a City Police officer.
The weekly crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force on Monday said the suspects allegedly had sexual intercourse with the complainant under coercive circumstances.
A case of rape case has thus been opened.
In an unrelated matter, 20-old-year George Tuutileni Shaningwa succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital after he was stabbed in the chest with a knife in Oshakati.
The incident occurred around 00h30 in Sky location.
The suspect has been arrested and the next of kin of the deceased are informed.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Ransley Kharigub died on the spot after he was stabbed at Epako’s Damara Block in Gobabis.
The next of kin of the deceased are informed and the police investigation continues.
The police also reported that a 16-year-old girl was arrested at Aranos after she stabbed to death Leticia Jaarse, 17, with an okapi knife on Saturday at about 18h50 in the Nuwerus residential area.
The motive behind the stabbing is unknown, the next of kin of the deceased are informed and police investigations into the matter continue.
A 26-year-old man identified as Joseph Shapaka died after he was stabbed with an unknown sharp object in the chest on Saturday in Okahao.
The incident occurred around 23h40 and the suspect has been arrested, while the deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
Meanwhile in Okahandja, a 26-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after he was stabbed in the chest by a 23-year-old man.
Elrico Eiseb died in the Okahandja State Hospital after being stabbed at a bar around 23h00 on Sunday.
His next of kin are informed and the suspect was arrested.
