WINDHOEK, MARCH 22 – Namibia yesterday celebrated 29 years of independence since 21 March 1990. The President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta was one of the guests, who expressed his sympathetic pleasure during the independence celebrations held at Independence stadium in Windhoek, Olympia.
“I pay tribute to all the heroes who contributed to Namibia’s independence.” Kenyatta also congratulated Namibia on its enforcement of the gender equality policies and having faith in women to have power.
Meanwhile,Namibian President Hage Geingob said “The liberation struggle has ended but the economic struggle has just began.”
Geingob expressed his gratitude to the public for the great attendance at the stadium. He also thanked the Kenyan president for accepting the invitation to celebrate Namibia’s Independence day.
The morning was filled with with a lot of exciting activities and performances by various musical artists.
