KASU Dream Cup semifinals on 27 August

WINDHOEK, 22 AUG  – The football semifinals and final of the sixth annual Katutura Sport Union (KASU) Dream Cup is set for 27 August 2018 at the Khomasdal sports field.
The competition started on 03 August but lack of a football field in Windhoek that weekend led to the postponement of the football semifinals and final, according to KASU chairperson Kuveri Tjonga.
“We thank the City of Windhoek for availing the stadium so that we can complete these remaining games,” Tjonga told Nampa on enquiry Wednesday.
The netball competition was won by Super Stars A that defeated Super Stars B by 34 goals to 28 in the final played on 05 August.
In the first football semifinal, Life In The City from Otjombinde will lock horns against Omutumba-Okajeo from Otjimati at 09h00.
Otjimanangombe from Epukiro will be up against Ovitoto-based Boffing in the second semifinal set to start at 11h30.
A friendly match between Khomas NamPol and Ben Eleven at 13h00 will precede the final scheduled to kick off at 14h30.
“The purpose of this match is to keep the crowd busy while waiting for the final,” said the chairperson.
The winning team will receive N$8 000, a trophy plus 18 gold medals, while the runners-up will pocket N$4 000 and 18 silver medals.
The two semifinal losers will each take home N$2 000.
A total of 18 football teams and 15 netball teams participated in the 6th KASU Dream Cup.
Established in 1992, KASU aims for development of sport in Katutura by hosting football and netball tournaments that engage the youth in the capital and neighbouring towns.
