REHOBOTH, 17 APR. – Golden Bees Football Club (FC) coach, Hardley Ortner said his team is more than ready to flex their muscles against Khomas NamPol FC in the Debmarine Namibia Cup this weekend.
The two teams will clash in the competition’s Round of 16 stage in a match scheduled to take place at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the capital on Saturday.
“We have been working hard since the start of the year and like previous games, we will go in there and win our game. We are confident that we can go through to the next round,” Ortner said.
He said although their envisaged league did not start, it will not deter them in any way to fulfill their mission of winning the cup.
“We want to be the first team from the lower leagues to win the cup for our fans, to prove that you don’t have to be in the Namibian Premier League to win. We want to make history by being the first team from Outjo to win the cup,” Ortner narrated.
Golden Bees booked their place in the competition after being crowned winners of the North West Stream First Division and defeated Namibian Premier League outfit Life Fighters in the Round of 32.
Khomas NamPol won the Southern Stream First Division and then defeated Space Age in the same round to book their place in the Round of 16.
The Round of 16 matches will be played in Windhoek and Walvis Bay.
