WINDHOEK, 08 JUN – Five people died on the spot after two cars collided on the B1 road between Windhoek and Okahandja Thursday afternoon.
The incident was confirmed to Nampa by Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi of the Namibian Police Force’s communications department.
Shikwambi said the incident happened around 15h00 when two vehicles, a BMW sedan and a Volkswagen Amarok collided head-on.
She said it is alleged that a tyre of the BMW burst, causing the driver to lose control over the vehicle.
Only an eight-month-old baby boy, who was thought to be in the Volkswagen Amarok, survived the incident.
Shikwambi said police were on the scene to establish more details about the incident, including the identities of the deceased.
